Greenwood Lake Man Pleads Not Guilty To Sexually Assaulting Children

GOSHEN, N.Y. – A Greenwood Lake man and retired NYPD officer pleaded not guilty to all 81 sex offenses he was charged with on Wednesday morning, according to the Times Herald-Record.

The indictment against Nicholas McAteer, 45, states he raped one victim in 2003, 2007 and groped her in 2016. It also states he sexually assaulted another victim several times between 2008 and 2013, the Record said.

Prosecutors attempted to raise McAteer's bail from $25,000 cash or $75,000 bond, but Judge Nicholas De Rosa to keep it where it is. McAteer has been free since posting bail in August, the Record reported.
